Illustration Friday - Visitors

When visitors are expected, I'm never ready on time. When the doorbell rings I'm still vacuuming, clearing the table, changing catbox litter, and hiding dirty dishes in the dishwasher. But this woman is ready. The house is clean, dip and drinks are ready, and she's at the door, looking down the road, in hopes that she will soon see her visitors.

ink, 4" x 6".

Excellent illustration...you definately captured that moment of being ready and waiting ( a rarity for me). I can better relate to not being ready for unexpected visitors.

I hope she doesn't get stood up...
That's always frustrating when you are ready & waiting...

You have conveyed the expression beautifully (Even when you can see just a part of her face)!

the emotion really shows in your illustration. she actually looks like she is ready, but not looking forward to this visit. so much portrayed with your beautiful, simlple linework.

Nice work! Very strong. And you've given me a good idea... Thanks for your comments too. I did add a bit to the plate, which is actually a cutting board. I didn't want to add too much, but I did revise it a bit.

Hola:
Gracias por tu comentario.
Anteriormente he visto tus trabajos y me gusta mucho el nivel de simplificación que logras para graficar los conceptos...
Muy buenos!!!

I love it, the expectant but peaceful look on her face. Love the hard edge shading and how you combined it with stipple.

Nicely done. I'm with you on this one, I'm still running around the house trying to do fifteen different thing when the guests ring the bell. And my guests are usually late. You really caught the emotion of the moment nicely.

she reminds me of myself, seems apprehensive, waiting, and always on time. it irritates me about myself really. wonder what it is like to be late? like your blog too
