Illustration Friday - Time

Oak ATC colored pencil on tempera

To me, an old tree is a symbol for time. Not the sprout, the sapling, nor even the young tree, but the old tree, gnarled and strong. Even after someone cuts it down, we can see the passage of years in its rings.

The top picture I drew today, specifically for IF. The ones below are from my previous work.

Tree ATC acrylics

Twisted Tree ATC ink and colored pencils

Live Oak APC 4"x6" acrylics on Corrinne's homemade paper

Nice trees! I like how they're all different, but each one is really solid. I especially like the b & w one, with the twisted trunk.

Nice collection of trees :)
I especially liked the one for IF, what came to mind was "a new spring dawning"

I like the different styles and media used for the trees, especially the colours in the top one. Nice interpretation of 'time' too. Thanks for visiting my blog.
