Thanks everyone, for dropping by my blog and leaving such friendly comments. But Lauren Kate, you need to go rest your eyes, I think - because I did not use textured paper for this piece.
I like this doodle. It speaks to me. But then I hear little voices all the time. Your blog and mine are a lot alike. I would love for you to visit sometime.

I like the boldness of the lines. Very nice.
Lovely illustration, I really like the bold brush strokes and the use of the white paper. Lots of movement too. Great technique!
Excellent doodle Marta. Simple, yet I can feel the battle waging between Captain and the ocean.
I love the simplicity of your line work. It is a great piece of art, and a great designn too.
The textured paper ads a lovely effect too.

So dynamic! I could almost be there in the water, too.
wow. The economy of line is great.
You did a great job of just showing enough. I especially like how the fish/whale has a Northwest native feel.
What size is the original (it looks tiny)?
Love the simplicity of this here drawing Marta! After seeing your atc work and stuff here I'm impressed with your range of styles!
Excellent! Very fun.
Thank you for the comment. I like your stylized captain, great positive and negative space. Pirates make the best captains.
Wow great work - I love the line quality - super!
I love the expression on the Captain's face. You really captured "jaw dropping"

I missed your entry for captain completely - so many people do IF now, which is great, but...
