Predator & Prey, colored pencils and ink, 4" x 6". The prey twists and turns, leaving twisted streams of bubbles in his wake, as he tries to escape that vicious predator.
Thanks Leah. I've tried to comment on your Illustration Friday posts, but you've got comments limited to team members, so I can't say a thing there. But let me say here that I really like the drawing of the child in the blanket. It has a wistful quality about it that is truly appealing.
In a past life as marine biologist, I dived for years in an international orange wetsuit...that is until a friend - a shark specialist - told me in Hawaii they call that color 'yum-yum orange'! Great spin on twist and super composition/colors!
I love these illustrations--the colors in this shark one are great! I'm not brave enough to draw much, yet!
Also--I'm Katie the Queen's mom (does that make me the Queen Mother?) and I wanted to say thanks for your comments--she gets excited about comments (don't we all?)

There's more than one twist here! Well done! :)

I had a goldfish just like that named Nipper, no one was safe around him. Great illustration.
Very funny!
Glad it made you smile, Tina. Erin, Nipper is a great name for your feisty goldfish!
reminds me of trying to swim laps in the fast lane ... love your nature paintings in "Camouflage"
nice concept and funny!
Excellent illustration... I love the irony! Love the colors as well..
Thanks for stopping by my blog too!

Like that expression. gold fish are vicious if you ask me - also have suicidal tendencies.
Our goldfish "Goldie" was never vicious, although she was very brave, so maybe in the right situation... :) Great interpretation of this week's theme!
being a new blogger i love your stuff
love that you're my age group
love that you're an aquarian
Nice work! And a nice big preview to really enjoy the detail!!! Great!
Back already. Do you like the music from "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"? Very fun.
Fun! I like the strong colors.

Size does not matter very funny drawing!
Really nice illo! I really like your painterly style on the other pieces, too.
Thanks for your input on my drawing.
That's a twist alright! Very nice.
I love that fishy...and twisting bubbles are wonderful to watch as they float to the surface.
I love your take on the topic and as always your artwork is wonderful and so full of color.
Cool take on the topic! I like the expression and, as someone already pointed out, there is a nice twist in this predator-prey tale!
Thank you for your comment on my post - very useful observation there.
very clever. I like the way you have done the water, very nice.
Funny illo and very cute, too!

ouch! This is a great twist!
My, that shark looks thoroughly intimidated and scared by that orange fish (don’t tell me it’s a goldfish!). Hehehe. I enjoyed this “twist” concept.

Great work! The strokes make the illustration seem alive. Great colors too. Put a smile on my face.
What a great twist this is!
